Lors de l&rsquo;Exposition universelle de Paris en 1936, il participe \u00e0 la d\u00e9coration du pavillon de la Bretagne. Pour gagner sa vie, il travaille \u00e0 des r\u00e9alisations monumentales dans les ateliers de Alfred Janniot et de Jean Serraz. En 1938, il installe son atelier personnel rue du Moulin-de-Beurre (aujourd\u2019hui rue du Texel, quartier Montparnasse) qu\u2019il gardera jusqu\u2019en 1972. En 1942, il obtient le prix Roux. En 1943, aux essais du concours de Rome, il fait la rencontre de Suzanne Deregnaucourt, sa future \u00e9pouse et la m\u00e8re de ses quatre enfants. Elle l\u2019accompagnera sans rel\u00e2che dans ses aventures artistiques. C\u2019est en juin 1944 que Francis Pellerin devient premier grand prix de Rome en sculpture<\/p>\n<p>Deux mois plus tard, en ao\u00fbt 1944, ses deux fr\u00e8res sont tu\u00e9s, \u00e0 deux jours d&rsquo;intervalle, l&rsquo;un \u00e0 Cancale, l&rsquo;autre \u00e0 Saint-Malo. Conjointement, il m\u00e8ne une activit\u00e9 intense pour des r\u00e9alisations monumentales dont nombre seront financ\u00e9es au titre du 1% pour l\u2019art cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1951. Par ailleurs, il travaille \u00e0 la d\u00e9coration de treize \u00e9difices religieux. Il est sollicit\u00e9 pour la r\u00e9alisation de plus d\u2019une centaine d\u2019oeuvres. C\u2019est dans un grenier de sa maison de campagne \u00e0 Ray, pr\u00e8s de Cesson-S\u00e9vign\u00e9, qu\u2019il cr\u00e9e des \u0153uvres sur papier \u00e0 l\u2019encre de chine et \u00e0 la gouache. En 1963, il quitte son domicile de la rue Victor Hugo pour une maison-atelier rue George Sand, toujours \u00e0 Rennes. Il fermera son atelier (\u00ab\u00a0son meilleur copain\u00a0\u00bb, disait-il) un mois avant son d\u00e9c\u00e8s, le 30 septembre 1998.
